Wendylou explica então que só tinha 2 opções: proibi-lo e obrigá-lo a brincar com coisas de rapazes, o que poderia contribuir para que se tornasse alguém infeliz e reprimido... ou deixá-lo ser ele próprio.

Wendylou garante ainda que Desmond, que assumiu ser gay aos 9 anos, não é transexual. "Desde pequeno que ele diz que é um menino que gosta de se vestir de menina", explica.
